Food is complicated. There are so many different ingredients in foods that it takes time to decipher what will meet your individual needs. CarrotLines is a free mobile app that simplifies the decision making process and helps you make the right healthy food choices faster!

You set your nutritional profile (e.g. Organic, Vegan, low fat, high fibre, amount of sugar, allergies, etc.) and use the camera on your mobile device to scan the bar code on a product in store. The app will let you know automatically if that food is right for you! Pretty cool, huh? Now you don't have to spend the time squinting at the label and spend that time eating the food you love instead! It is a pretty innovative app that health conscience people will find very useful.

I found out about this app when I was at the Vancouver Health Show last month and I also entered a contest there and guess what? I won the grand prize which includes a Sunrise Tofu prize pack and a $100 Visa giftcard! Thank you CarrotLines and Sunrise Tofu!

When picking up my prize, I met the developers behind the CarrotLines app. They are three amazing people that made all of this into what it is! CarrotLines is currently nominated for "Best Concept" in Small Business BC's Successful You Awards. You can vote for them here. Voting closes at the end of the month so make sure you make your vote count and support some home-grown talent!

CarrotLines is available right now on the Apple App Store but don't worry Android users, your app is currently in the pipeline!

Check out the CarrotLines website for more information on the app and follow on their Facebook page and Twitter feed to get the latest news.

Hahaha check out the latest trailer parody from the Muppets. This time they spoofed The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Kudos to the Muppets marketing team. LMAO "blatant cross promotion"! They have the best trailers!

Here's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo's trailer for comparison:

Sweeet. These definitely are the droids you are looking for! Microsoft introduced this beauty today at this year's Comic-Con convention. (WHY AM I NOT THERE?) It features a R2-D2 design on the console with a gold C-3PO controller. It has 360GB of  memory and an all white Kinect sensor. What's even more awesome about this console is that it actually makes R2-D2 sounds! How cool is that?!

Have you seen the new Samsung Galaxy S II? It will be available tomorrow Thursday July 21 from Virgin Mobile and Bell Mobility. It looks like an awesome phone. Vivid 4.3" SUPER AMOLED Plus display, super fast dual core processors and beautiful slim design. The more I read about it the more I want it.
As you might already know I'm currently obsessed with the song "Still Alive" from the game Portal. It's playing repeat while I'm working and at home. In fact I'm listening to it now! Here it is for those who don't know what I'm talking about:

Now I found out a couple of days ago that Portal 2 was coming out! It was released yesterday! Hurray! More GlaDOS! As I haven't played the original Portal yet, I just purchased The Orange Box which has the original in it. I can't wait to play it. Maybe this will motivate me to set up my XBox finally.

It's been a long time since the last time I have drawn anything...When was it?...My last pic upload was winter of 2008! That's really too long I've been absent from the art world. I'm thinking of starting up again. I have a Tron themed pic floating around in my head. There are a few things a want to buy though. I'm thinking of purchasing Photoshop CS5 and upgrading my Wacom tablet. But I also want to some other electronics like a DSLR! Then there's the Kinect. Decisions, decisions...

Photoshop CS5 - US $199.00 on Adobe.com
Wacom Tablet - CDN $69.01 on Amazon.ca

Maybe I should just not delay and purchase them. I'm still waiting for the Canon T2i to come down in price a bit. Maybe next boxing day...or black friday.

Yesterday was the new Apple iPods and today is the Samsung Galaxy Tab! These new things are making me salivate with desire.

The iPod touch looks pretty sweet with it's new camera. But the iPhone has a better camera and now supports HDR!!! Whoa! Makes me want to consider an iPhone...However the Samsung Galaxy S looks very tempting too.

The Galaxy Tab looks like it's better than the iPad! It's smaller, but it has a CAMERA! Awesome! That is what the iPad is missing. Can't wait to see one in Canada. Wonder how much it's going to cost though. I hope it's not as much as the iPad! Outrageous prices!
I'm 25 years old today. Wow time does fly. I had a good day today. The radio was playing all my favourite songs and the FlipMino HD I won from the ScotiaBank Show Your Colours contest came in the mail today! What perfect timing. =D I had a very small celebration. My parents surprised me with a mango cake from Anna's. It was very good. They also gave me a card and two Lindt white chocolate bunnies! Mmmm.
I've just spent my week's earnings on coffee. I have been participating in paid studies as a test subject recently to earn money. I earned $10 this week and spent most of it on 2 cups of Starbucks coffee. T_T I wanted to try the new holiday drink selections. I tried the Expresso Truffle today. I must try to refrain from spending on unnecessary things. Was it worth $4.04 and a burnt tongue?...probably not.
School actually started yesterday but I only had one class and first day usually is not that bad. I don't want to go to school anymore! I miss work. I just have to hang on for one more year...

The buses are so busy this year! Every time I get on I barely get on. This morning the 43 AND the 41 bus was completely full! I had to get on the next 41. I feel so sorry for the people at Kerrisdale because there was a huge crowd of people there but the bus was still full; nobody could get on. The buses get more full each year! I think it is because new people are going to UBC but the existing students don't graduate! (i.e. me lol) So it is good to plan out your degree and get out of there fast so that you don't have to use the bus anymore. I can't believe everyone is encouraging taking the bus (and I'm all for it; I take the bus to work) when there are not enough buses to take! You probably have to leave your home 1-3 hours ahead just to get to school on time depending on where you live. That's ridiculous! It's worse than the airport!

Another complaint I have is with UBC. They changed their PRS system again! What the heck?! They just changed it about 2 years ago! And now the bookstore has reached its quota on PRS buybacks. They said to come back January. >=( I know what school I'm not going to donate to.
Today while I was waiting for the bus, a group of old ladies came to the front and stood a little off to the side. Then slowly, and slowly, they nonchalantly budged in front of me.

I find it very amusing, albeit a little annoying, that they would think I won't notice them cut in front of me. They pretended they where in front of me all along! Hahaha.

They were old ladies - I forgive them.
Who's the bright person who made the new Contac? They made the daytime pill blue and the night pill white! I would have done it the other way! It makes me so confused. I have to always think about which one is which.
