Greek Summer Festival 2014

The Vancouver Greek Summer Festival ( Now simply known as Greek Summerfest) is an annual celebration of food, entertainment, and family fun — from the famous “Roast Lamb” and “Loukoumades” (a specialty Greek dessert) to the dozens of live singers and dancers on the Performance Stage to face-painting for the children (and adults!).

Northwest Fan Fest - $30 - $55
Friday: 12pm – 2am

The University of British Columbia
The biggest geek based fan convention in British Columbia, Canada, brought to you by Anime Evolution, Cos & Effect, and the Vancouver Gaming Expo. Northwest Fan Fest is an all encompassing fandom event, made up of a collection of different conventions and societies, with the goal of making one big summer con in Vancouver at an affordable price.

Sunset Beach Food Cart Festival
5 p.m. until sundown, Friday, June 27, Friday, July 11, Friday, August 15 
Sunset Beach (Beach Avenue between Bute and Thurlow Streets)
Food trucks, art market, outdoor roller disco, song and dance routines by drag queens, sand castle competition. nTrust will be giving away up to $10,000 worth of food at the June 27th event. To claim a free meal, Sunset Beach Social goers can sign up for an nTrust Cloud Money™ account beforehand, and pick up their free meal voucher at the event from the nTrust booth.

The chefs from Cooking Journeys are excited to be hosting a series of market tours throughout the summer at Kitsilano.  Luisa and Courtney will be your personal guides through the market, focusing on a different topic each month, to help you get the most out of your market experience. They'll show you how to find the best products on offer, use them wisely, stretch your dollar and how to shop like a chef!  Tours run rain or shine at 11:30am. Come prepared with comfortable shoes and an umbrella if needed. Save a tree & don't print your ticket - we'll check you in at the Market Information Booth.

If you've ever wondered about the fish you buy at the Vancouver Farmers Markets, this is the tour for you. Our fish vendors will share with you their stories about how their fish are caught, how they are processed, and how they end up at the market. These family fishers know the oceans better than anyone and are happy to answer all of your questions. June is a great month for salmon this year and you'll be able to buy fresh fish at the market!  Each tour meets at the Market Information Booth, visits four producers and runs for about 40 minutes.  Tours run rain or shine - June 29th @ 11am & 12pm.

Ships to Shore Steveston 2014
Sunday, June 29 and Monday, June 30: 11:00 am - 6:00 pm

Imperial Landing and Britannia Heritage Shipyards, National Historic Site in Steveston. Just east of Bayview Street and No. 1 Road, along the Steveston boardwalk.
History, adventure and fun will sail back into Richmond for Ships to Shore Steveston 2014 on Sunday, June 29 until Tuesday, July 1.  For the fourth year in a row, you can relive the days when Richmond's Steveston Village was a major port-of-call for fleets of sailing ships from around the world.  This year's Ships to Shore event is moving right into Steveston Village. A small flotilla of tall ships and other sailing ships and historical vessels of note will be on display and available for free public boarding at Imperial Landing. Ship boarding is free, but space is limited.

Food Cart Fest is a gathering of over 20 of Vancouver’s top Food Carts presented by Arrival and The Streetfood Vancouver Society. Join us every week in the Summer for food, fun, and sun complemented by community markets, live music and DJs, craft food vendors, kids activities, and more. Food Cart Fest will take place every Sunday in the Summer from 12pm-5pm. Free for Vancity or Car2Go Members or when you bring a non-perishable donation to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.
