There will be something for everyone from fashion, accessories, art, jewelry, baby items, home decor and stuff for the guys!

Beggars Banquet - $2

Beggars Banquet began as a pop-up flea market taking place in beautiful centralized locations in Vancouver's Gastown. What began as a market aiming to expand on existing Vancouver-based vintage sales, Beggars Banquet has grown substantially in the past year and now includes more categories combining a variety of interests and collectibles in a curated environment resulting in an amazing roster of vendors at every event (some new, some returning, all incredible). Vintage fashion, retro collectibles, deadstock relics, locally produced specialties and much much more make up the Beggars Banquet experience. The Bottleneck and R&B Brewing will be supplying complimentary bites and beer with admission while supplies last.

Blim is pleased to announce a new market in downtown Vancouver! This event will be a one night curated market event happening on Friday, April 19 from 5 pm til midnite.  There will be a cash bar, café, and baked goods. As well as a DJ set by Ultimate Lover. Hype Events will be promoting this event.  Admission will be by donation and there will also be prize give aways and swag bags for first comers.

Local Cheese Tour & Tasting  Vancouver Farmers Markets is hosting local cheese tasting tours in celebration of Earth Day! Meet the makers themselves and learn about goat (Chevres, Gozzarella, St. George, Caerphilly, Blue Caprina, Feta & more), cow (Gouda, Lady Jane, Rathtrevor, Bleu Claire, Curds...) and sheep (Montana) cheeses. Discover what to look for in surface-ripened, hard, aged and fresh cheeses and who carries which kinds. Join Windermere High School’s Youth for Climate Justice Now, as we carry on the tradition of celebrating Earth Day on Commercial Drive!  Like years past, we’d like to invite you to march in our annual Earth Day parade from Commercial and Broadway to Grandview Park, where we will be greeted by a celebration complete with speakers, musicians, possibly some juggling by a local leader or two, and all the good things that come with gathering together as a community to address the things that matter most today.

Earth Day Event: Clean With "Green"

On April 20, in celebration of Earth Day, the Aquarium will be at Whole Foods in West Vancouver educating the public about common household products, how these products can negatively impact aquatic life and environments, as well as what can be done to reduce these impacts on aquatic environments and animals.    One of our educators will be on site with a small interactive display and will talk to the public at 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.  Join us and learn what you can do to reduce your impact on the aquatic environment. 

Meet Rachel Hartman author of "Seraphina"

Rachel Hartman will explore where ideas come from, discuss how the seeds of fiction are often found in unexpected places, and examine the unexpected origins of three big ideas in her novel "Seraphina". "Seraphina" won the 2013 YALSA Morris Award for Best YA Debut Novel and was a finalist for the 2012 Governor General’s Literary Award (Canada).

Richmond Earth Day Celebration

Celebrate Earth Day by participating in this hands-on event designed to connect residents to the green and natural spaces in their community, promote long-term stewardship and enhance feelings of community connectedness and pride. Volunteers will be involved in a park clean-up from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a community drum circle and then a volunteer recognition lunch with Mayor Malcolm Brodie. All volunteers who participate in community clean-up activities leading up to Earth Day will be recognized at this event.

Celebrate Earth Day with a visit to the EarthFest family nature festival being held on Burnaby Lake. The free event, organized by the Wildlife Rescue Association of BC, offers a range of activities for nature lovers including canoe rides on Burnaby Lake, the opportunity to make and take home your own bird or bee box, and guided walks around the park.

Green Streets Plant Swap
