UBC Bookstore's New Release Party

The UBC Bookstore in Vancouver will celebrate its new space and look in March and April, while the Okanagan also celebrates the Bookstore's new look. Mar28: Join UBC students and campus partners in bringing you activities around the 'word' theme. Music, bands and dance, a huge FREE pastry breakfast with coffee, food throughout the day, authors, and not to be missed, great deals on clothing and gifts. Mar29: Family activities including face-painting, balloon twisting, giant games and readings from children's books. Enjoy a FREE pastry breakfast with coffee in partnership with Starbucks and Food Services followed by Fair Trade pancakes in partnership with Engineers Without Borders. FREE MEC injury prevention running clinic.

This homegrown event will introduce you to some local people and resources that can help you build a better garden as well as add some real deliciousness to your table.  Peter Ladner will talk on The Urban Food Revolution (and book signing).  Entertainment: Movies including Meet your Local Urban Farmer and Truck Farm  Demonstrations include: growing your own mushrooms, a composting workshop with Homesteaders Emporium, marvellous microgreens (healthy and fun), how to make a self watering container, and all about honey.
