Hawkers Gonna Hawk

So many people attended Hawkers Market on Saturday evening. The venue was filled to the brim with a long line up outside for stand-by tickets. There were so many more different vendors since the last time I visited. This quarterly market is a place where local food businesses can sell their goods in an environment that brings customers to them. I was interested in the Bug Chef and trying out Juno Kim's food (photos toward the bottom of this post).

Juno Kim of Juno Kim Catering hard at work at his booth in collaboration with Merchants Oyster Bar. I saw his food preparations on Instagram and they looked so beautiful and delicious that I wanted to try them myself!

Oyster, apple mint slaw, ginger apple sabayon.

This was DELISH! Chicken parfait, crispy chicken skin, cider gastrique gel, thyme crème fraîche

Ramen on a cracker - Crispy pork belly, wakame cracker, soy and shochu emulsion, pickled shiitakes, shiitake dust

Fresh shucked oysters with apple slaw and foam...that deflated while I was taking photos. =(

Chilled mussels, fennel vinaigrette, fried brioche, winter herb x prosciutto oil

Pulled pork, celery root wrap, cilantro apple slaw, kelp stout BBQ sauce

They were all so delicious! I want to go eat more! Juno Kin cooks at 33 Acres Brewing Company every Monday. Maybe I shall pay a visit!
