Stonegrill @ the MET

At the Shop 'Til You Drop event at Metrotown last Thursday, we stopped to eat dinner at Stonegrill @ the Met. It is a spacious restaurant with nice ambiance. It wasn't crowded which was understandable since everyone was out shopping.

Eager to get on with our shopping, we ordered quickly. I decided on one of the Prix Fixe meals which comes with a salad or soup and a dessert. I choose the Atlantic Salmon Fillet and Creme Burlee for dessert. The salads came quickly but we waited for more than half an hour before the main dishes came out and it wasn't that busy in the restaurant either!

The salmon was delicious though! It was lightly seasoned with rock salt sprinkled around the stone. It was sooo good. Only the salmon though. The risotto and vegetables that came with weren't very good. The risotto was too rich to my taste and the vegetables were too oily. However the salmon made up for it and filled me up.

My fellow shoppers opted to try non-stone dishes. They thought the linguine was good but the chicken wasn't too special. The linguine was also include in the Prix Fixe options so we ordered the other dessert Tiramisu.

Chicken with rice and vegetables?
I was disappointed that after we finished our meal our waitress told us they had run out of their signature Creme Burlee! =( So we opted to get some plain vanilla ice cream instead and shared the tiramisu. The dessert looked nice but it just ok. I've tasted better tiramisu and this one didn't excite me.

Would I go back? Yeah, probably but only to try the stone grill dishes. The regular ones don't seem to be worth it. Maybe the one downtown is better?
