Visit the FREE Health, Sports & Lifestyle Expo during the BMO Vancouver Marathon weekend to see and experience a variety of superb exhibitors showcasing products and services that suit your active lifestyle. Runners will pick up their bibs, timing chips, Saucony tech shirt, BMO gloves and other surprises at the Expo.  The Expo is located at Canada Place in the Vancouver Convention Centre East, Hall C. Canada Place is the official host for the BMO Vancouver Marathon Weekend and represents an exciting venue that is 30% larger than previous years with a stunning downtown waterfront location.  It is anticipated that 60,000 visitors including over 17,000 participants will visit the Expo over the Marathon Weekend. Best of all…. it’s FREE to the public.

Vancouver, do you like FREE pizza and live music? Well we sure do, and you’re invited to a #panagofiesta!  To celebrate Panago’s new Mexican themed pizzas, we’re having a fiesta! Arriving by our very own musical Mariachi bus, we will be handing out free pizza alongside Canada’s premier Mariachi band, Los Dorados this Friday during CTV’s News at Noon broadcast at Robson and Burrard!  With the choice of our new Nacho pizza and our Taco, Fajita and Cheese classics there’s something for everyone who wants to join our #panagofiesta and with Cinco de Mayo just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to have a Mexican celebration to get you in the mood!  If free pizza and live music sounds like a great way to spend a lunch hour come join us for the party!

Spring is here which means it’s almost time for our annual Open House. Each year we run back to back Learn to Ride sessions over the course of one weekend for anyone interested in riding the track. Participants will learn first hand what it takes to ride fixed gear bikes in Western Canada’s only indoor velodrome. There’s a lot more to riding your bike indoors than just escaping the weather and this is the perfect opportunity to see what we mean. And, did we mention, it’s free!  This year the Open House is taking place on May 3rd-4th with sessions on both days happening at 9:00am, 11:15am, and 2:00pm.

Test drive appointments are available to prospective customers.     Your driving session will be 15 minutes long over a predetermined route designed to highlight the capabilities of Model S.     A Tesla Product Specialist will accompany all drives to ensure you optimize your time in Model S.     You may bring up to three guests to ride in the back seat during your drive.

Bird Week

Bird Week is a week-long series of events to celebrate Vancouver's birds. Bird Week was inspired by World Migratory Bird Day, a United Nations-sponsored initiative that recognizes the importance of birds as key indicators of our environment's health.  Check out our events calendar for bird-related workshops, walks, talks, exhibitions, and lectures across Vancouver. All events are free.  Bird Week will kick off with an official proclamation and walk at the Vancouver Park Board administration office, 2099 Beach Avenue. Throughout the week, there will be artists’ workshops for kids and families and art exhibits at the Roundhouse and Hillcrest community centres, closing with a series of walks in Vancouver parks to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day. 

River District Farmers Market

EarthFest Nature Festival and Open House

As a part of the Wildlife Rescue Association’s 2014 Open House and EarthFest event on Saturday, May 3, we will be offering exclusive tours through our wildlife hospital to show off the amazing work we do for over 4,000 animals every year!  Visitors to EarthFest will have the opportunity to build a black-capped chickadee, tree swallow or mason bee nest box to take home, create wildlife crafts, go on guided trail walks and meet local environmental community groups. EarthFest runs from 11am to 3pm.  At the open house at the WRA rehabilitation centre on Glencarin Drive, visitors will be able to tour the wildlife garden, attend interactive presentations with WRA rehabilitation staff, watch a film presentation, visit the education booth and attend the behind-the-scenes tour.  While entrance to EarthFest and the Open House is free, the Care Centre tours which run between 12 noon and 4pm are by donation only.
