The smell of gingerbread is permeating the lobby of Hyatt Regency in downtown Vancouver once again! Over 40 gingerbread houses have been created by various schools, amateur and professional sponsors. You can also vote for your favorite to win this year's People's Choice award! Make a donation to Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon along with your vote, and be entered to win a free night stay at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver. The displays will be up until December 27, 2012 so be sure to give a visit by then! The creativity of the displays will delight everyone!

Once again the centrepiece of Gingerbread Lane is the gigantic gingerbread house measuring 11 feet tall and 16 feet wide made by the Hyatt Regency Vancouver’s Executive Sous Chef Daniel Chiang.

Students from the Pacific Institue of Culinary Arts created this "Candyland Express", which won 2nd prize in the Amateur category.

I love these cupcakes. So cute!

This Santa's Coaster display won 1st Prize in the Secondary School category! It was made by the students of Windermere Secondary School.

Once again, the Vancouver Community College dazzled us with an intricate display of epic proportions. The "Gingerbell Bakery" is full of delightful scenes and one can spend a long time looking at this display just admiring all the little details that are incorporated. It is certainly my favourite! I recommend going to the Hyatt just to see this display! This beautiful workshop won first place in the Professional category!

My old high school David Thompson placed 3rd in the Secondary School category with their creative coral inspired display!
