The highlights of this weekend are the Dragon Boat Festival at False Creek, the first instalment of Farmers Market Kitchen featuring Chef Karen Barnaby and Car Free Day! Also remember it is Father's Day on Sunday so make sure you give your dad a good time! It's also the 13th annual BC Family Fishing Weekend so if your dad likes the outdoors, maybe take him down to the docks for some fishing!

The first installment of Farmers Market Kitchen starts today at 11am! Join Chef Karen Barnaby as she demonstrates a seasonal recipe featuring delicious local ingredients sourced right from the market. North Parking Lot of John Hendry Park at Trout Lake Between Templeton and Lakewood south of the 13th Avenue Alley Please note: There is no parking in the North Lot and no parking on 13th Avenue. Please park away from the area & walk in. Or better yet: walk, cycle or take transit if you can!

Car Free Vancouver Day - Kitsilano

Kitsilano is doing something different for Car Free Day. Instead of closing off a major street, people throughout Kits are hosting individual block parties with their neighbours on both Saturday June 16th and Sunday June 17th (Father’s Day)

Brave Brings Scotland to Canada
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Dragon Boat Festival, Creekside Park 
12:30 PM – 3:00 PM at Car Free Vancouver Day, Kitsilano Beach
In celebration of the release of Disney•Pixar’s “Brave” on June 22, Walt Disney Studios Canada is bringing a taste of Scotland to Canadian cities this weekend. Traditional Scottish bag pipers and dancers will journey through Canadian streets on Saturday and Sunday. Lads and lasses are encouraged to join the celebration, where they will have the opportunity to see clips from the film and win prizes.

Commercial Drive is the birthplace of Car Free Vancouver Day – thank you, you lovely rebels, you!  From a renegade road hockey game, to a legitimate street festival, this year Car Free Vancouver Society is doubling the Drive festival footprint!
