The Pet Expo is being held at the PNE, attendees will be able to see lots of cute animals and pet products at the tradeshow. And wow, the second ever Poutine Festival is on this Saturday and advance tickets are already sold out! There will still be some tickets at the door though. Celts on the Creek kicks off CelticFest this weekend in preparation for events including a parade next weekend. Have a great weekend, everyone!

The 9th Annual Vancouver Diversity Health Fair is coming this spring on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Croatian Cultural Centre. The theme of this year's event is 'Chronic Disease Prevention'. 

Aliens Among Us Grand Opening Event - by donation

Aliens Among Us is a Royal BC Museum traveling exhibition on British Columbia's invasive plant and animal species. American bullfrogs, Scotch Broom, Smallmouth Bass and Purple Loosestrife are just a few of the species featured in Aliens Among Us. Guided tours of the exhibit will be given throughout the day by Dr. Melissa Frey, Curator of Marine Invertebrates at the Royal BC Museum, as well as interpretive presentations and walks from the City of Richmond's Environmental Sustainability Department. Family fun activities occurring throughout the day will include musical performances from Max Tell, and professional face painting from Melanie Dawn.  Support for the Aliens Among Us exhibit has been provided by BC Hydro and the Royal BC Museum. The Eastside Flea is an on-going market in East Vancouver featuring a diverse array of vendors from handmade goods, vintage clothing & antiques, art, craftsmen items, garage sale, and more!  The Spring markets in March and April will take place indoors, following which we plan to move them OUTSIDE for the summer to an exciting new location!  Admission into the market is free, and is all ages! Also, the number of rush tickets will be limited based on the room capacity. During the day, people tend to come and go, so there are more likelihood to get in around 2h30-3h00pm. International Women’s Day has been celebrated all over the world since the early 1900′s. The original focus was the movement towards equality and universal suffrage. It has since grown to become a day of celebration and recognition of women’s achievements in both developing and developed countries alike. On March 8th, events are held around the world to celebrate the advancements we have made, and raise awareness for what we still have yet to accomplish. Last year, events took place in over 100 countries. Every year, YWiB SFU hosts a conference in celebration of this important day, and in order to provide a forum for the women of Vancouver to connect over a common cause.
