6th Annual Spot Prawn Festival

It's the start of the Spot Prawn season and the Chefs’ Table Society of British Columbia held a spot prawn boil at False Creek Fishermen’s Wharf near Granville Island yesterday. Hundreds of people flock to the docks each year to get a taste of the season's first spot prawns. This was the first time I attended this event and was pretty stoked about it since spot prawns are one of my favourite seafoods!

Everywhere you look, you will see happy smiling faces enjoying spot prawns. Mmm!

In addition to the spot prawn boil, there was cooking demos, music, beer tasting and the Vancouver Aquarium was there promoting sustainable ocean wise seafood.

Look at these delicious looking creatures.

The line to buy live spot prawns directly from the boat was huge! At $12 a pound, these babies are sure worth it! They will be available everyday after 1pm for the rest of the season.
