During the Christmas break, I met up with W for lunch at Sha Lin Noodle House on Broadway. We frequently drive past it and have always wondered how the food is there.

You can look in that window to the kitchen to watch the chefs make the noodles!

There are a lot of choices. I was overwhelmed!

Dragging noodles (in Soup) Noodles with Beef & Bean Sprouts in Soup $6.95
There were a lot of noodle choices on the menu and I ended up picking Dragging Noodles with Beef & Bean Sprouts in Soup. There were dragging noodles and cutting noodles, which describes the technique they use to make the noodles, which are all made in house. The cilantro, raw bean sprouts and some salty preserved vegetable came on a separate plate.

The broth wasn't hot enough to cook the bean sprouts thoroughly but I didn't mind.

Here's how the noodles look like. Thick, slightly chewy noodles in beefy broth. Yummy!

Zhajiang Pork with Cucumber on Dragging Noodles $6.95
W ordered the Zhajiang Pork with Cucumber on Dragging Noodles which was a dry dish.

The noodles were underneath with some kind of sauce. You have to mix it around yourself.

Pork Dumplings in Sour Soup (12pc) $7.55
We also split an order of pork dumplings in sour soup. They were ok but the soup wasn't as sour as it could have been. I was already very full from the noodles and the dumplings put me way over the top.

Overall I liked what I tried. It might be worth going back to try other types of noodles!
