Harmony Arts Festival

A lively festival along West Vancouver’s waterfront produced by the District of West Vancouver. Every summer for the last 21 years locals and guests from across the Lower Mainland have come to relax, enjoy and take in the arts, the music and the visual diversity that is Harmony Arts.

The farmers market will feature over 40 vendors selling farm produce, prepared foods and craft items from across BC.

We love celebrating our country and everything about it that makes it the best place on earth! CanadaFest at Canada Place will be showcasing the sights, sounds, tastes and traditions of Canada through music, food and performances along with a celebration to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.    This free community event will take place from 11am to 7pm on Saturday August 4, 2012 at Canada Place’s Front Plaza, The Canadian Trail along the West Promenade, and the North Point. Veg Fest Vancouver

Veg Fest Vancouver is a day-long outdoor festival which will be happening for it’s second year on August 4th, 2012. At the festival will be vegan food vendors, tables for animal protection organizations, local businesses, and much more! And best of all, it’s entirely FREE to attend!

36th Annual Powell Street Festival

Oppenheimer Park, 400 block of Powell Street
The 36th annual Powell Street Festival will be held on August 4th and 5th, 2012 at Oppenheimer Park and surrounding venues! This year’s theme is BIG BANG-ZAI! It is a Japanese Canadian arts & culture celebration attended by thousands each year. There will be dance, music, film and video, visual arts, martial arts demos, craft vendors, traditional displays, marketplace and delicious Japanese food available.

Livable Laneways is back this summer hosting another series of Night Markets at Main and Broadway. There will be 3 themed markets on consecutive Saturdays – July 21st, 28th and August 4th. Each night market will also be hosting an urban farmers market. August 4th will feature the 2nd Annual Smoking Sausage BBQ Cook-off. For only $3, attendees can sample sausages BBQ'ed by participating restaurants: Burgoo Bistro, Hyde Restaurant, The Cascade Room, The Rumpus Room, and Eight 1/2 Restaurant!

This will be the first time any of these countries have participated in what is the World's largest offshore international fireworks competition. Expect to see something a little different with each country not only preparing the fireworks but choosing the soundtrack to their performance also.  Head down to Sunset Beach before each show to experience more of the culture of each performing country on their specific day - and while you're there check out the great line-up of music at Shorefest and visit the Honda Zone!

34th Annual Pride Parade

Each year, the annual Pride Parade draws more than 600,000 people. The 34th annual Pride Parade – located in the heart of Vancouver’s West End – is the event of the summer! The Vancouver Pride Parade route travels along Robson street to Denman, follows to Beach Avenue and ends at Sunset Beach Pride Festival event.

Food Cart Fest at The Waldorf
