The River District community held its inaugural farmers market last Saturday with several vendors including Urban Digs Farm, A Bread Affair, Earthgirl Beauty, Goldstrike Honey Bee, Life Bites, O'Reillly's Organic Coffee House, just to name a few, as well as face painting, music, arts & crafts. There was also a free community BBQ during the later half of the market but I didn't stay until then.

A fairly large amount of people visited the market on Saturday. There were many dogs around too.

So many different types of squash were on sale.

Peaches, plums, apples, and melons also seem to be in season.

The first 100 customers got this cool reusable bag. I'm so happy I made it in time!

I also bought a t-shirt from Urban Digs Farm. I love their logo and always wanted one! I'm friends with my farmer! =D

The River District is a beautiful place especially with the good weather.

The River District Farmers market isn't as big as Trout Lake but it has a good variety of vendors and is a good place to shop for fresh local produce. Plus you can enjoy walking along the river! This farmers market will be held every Saturday from 10:00am to 2:00pm until October 27th, 2012 at 8683 Kerr Street, Vancouver. Make sure you go check it out!
