River District Farmers Market

This one-of-a-kind farmers market is the only riverfront market in Vancouver. Come shop for fruits and veggies, prepared foods, and handmade products produced farmers and artisans. Stay for live music, children’s activities hosted by the South Burnaby 4Cats Arts Studio and a delicious meal at Romer’s Burger Bar.  Enjoy the waterfront, playground and pier. Treasured Bulb Sale

The 2nd annual Treasured Bulb Sale will offer a wide range of bulbs for sale, from garden favourites to specialty bulbs, as well as an expanded selection of garlic. To make this a fun event, and to play up the event's theme that bulbs are "buried treasure" we are offering free entry to the Botanical Garden for those that arrive in costume. (Entry to the sale, which is located in the garden's entrance area is free for all, but regular admission applies for those that would like to enter the garden, except those in costume).  Tours on the Greenheart Canopy Walkway will also be offered at a special discount on the event day for those that would like to "walk the plank."

Southlands Country Fair - by donation

It's a community event that focuses on horses and a rural lifestyle within the city of Vancouver. It was created to showcase the unique equestrian neighbourhood of Southlands, and to give all residents of Vancouver the opportunity to enjoy a day in the country, without leaving the city. Horse Entertainment throughout the day featuring Southlands riders demonstrating all the exciting things horses can do, Pony Rides and Hay Rides, a Farm Yard Fun area for the kids full of old-fashioned, country-themed activities, the Vendors Market for those who love to shop for local arts and crafts, Silent Auction, Book Sale, and Bake Sale, the Petting Farm full of animals for the kids to meet, lots of great food and a pleasant picnic area day-long musical entertainment featuring local artists. There will also be a live performance by FRESHH who were seen on Canada's Got Talent, and an appearance by a Housewife of Vancouver!

There will be horse and carriage rides, afternoon tea, live entertainment, old-fashioned games, arts and crafts, environmental art, vintage cars on display, BBQ, historical slideshow, guided tours of the mansion, an opportunity to dress up in clothing from this era, pottery studio open house, ballroom dance demonstrations and a cake cutting and tree planting ceremony.
