Milestones English Bay

Last weekend, I met up with some friends to have dinner at the English Bay Cactus Club. But they don't take reservations and we arrived after 7pm to find about 30 parties ahead of us on the wait list. We blame the good weather. So we decided to look elsewhere. Milestones and the Boathouse were the nearest and we voted for Milestones. They had a wait of their own too but not as long as Cactus Club. We had the choice of inside or the patio but took inside since the sun was already down by then, we weren't going to be enjoying much of a view. If it were earlier, we'd definitely would have taken the patio.

Beautiful sunset
We were starving by this time so we didn't take long to decide what we wanted...but the waiter did. He took down our orders for water and didn't let us continue on to order our mains. lol So we had to wait a little longer. We decided to share two appetizers in addition to our mains.

What bad luck. After we ordered, Cactus Club notified us that our table was ready. I guess a lot more people decided to dine elsewhere as well.

Crispy Honey Phyllo Shrimp $8.99

Mmm. Crispy honey phyllo shrimp was so good. It came with a sweet and slightly spicy sauce.

Milestones' Famous Hot Spinach & Artichoke Dip $10.99
My friend, A said that this spinach dip was the amazing and it was delicious! Warm, rich and cheesy dip with lots of nachos to eat it with. The salsa and sour cream that also came with it was largely ignored. Some of the nachos was a little too salted though. A few were all covered in salt that my friend had to scrape off!

Italian Sausage Ravioli $16.99
W ordered the Italian Sausage Ravioli. I didn't try it but it looks delicious!

American Burger $12.99
My other friend, L ordered the American burger with curly fries! Mmmm.

Portobello Mushroom Chicken - Double breast of chicken with sliced Portobello mushrooms sauteed in olive oil with fresh basil, roasted garlic and reduced Reggiano cream over capellini $19.99
I decided to have the portobello mushroom chicken with capellini. You also have the option of changing the capellini to rice but I like pasta. It was very flavourful and the bland capellini was great to soak up the sauce. The two pieces of chicken were very tender so yummy!

I went to starving to stuffed. So satisfying. Great meal. Great company. What more could I ask for?
